BUILT BRAND PRESENCE
FreeMe’s challenge with George Hayward was to update his brand and find a more effective way to seamlessly tie together the various, extraordinary sides to him. From military journalist, to illustrious public relations expert, through to published author to infrastructure professional, FreeMe honed in on what spoke louder than anything he had actually done - his personal interest in cause and effect in life. This theme runs central to the rebranding FreeMe developed, giving George a stronger presence in online communities, attracting more followers and readers of his books, and giving him further personal pride in his convictions.
I contracted Emily and the FreeMe Network when I was ready to turn my dry, outdated WordPress page into a site that would spread awareness of both my niche work as a public relations consultant and my two completely unrelated books, and to attract customers to both sides of me. This was a tough challenge for any branding or website pro, because as a seasoned p.r. Pro myself, I knew (or thought I knew) what I wanted in the site, and having been part of branding processes for my own clients, I know “how the sausage is made.” Instead, her holistic, thoughtful process started with who I am, rather than what I do, to build an emotional connection with followers, and establish credibility and authority to my personal brand above and beyond what I do for a living. She took me in directions I didn’t expect, and I could not be happier with the results!
